The Mother of All Workouts

Oh man. You won't believe what I did today. I'm not sure how I even came up with this idea for a workout, but somehow I did. And once I got the idea in my brain, it was a done deal.

The 9 Hour Workout......
Every hour on the hour, for the duration of 9 hours, row 1000 meters, for a total of 10 rows, or 10,000 meters

Here are my times for the 10 rows:
5:05 (easy row. then decided that all rows to be under 5:00)
4:48
4:53
4:46
4:47
4:46
4:45
4:52
4:52
4:34 (determined to finish real strong!)

I'm glad I did this workout, but doubt I'll do it again. Spent all day in my workout clothes, interrupted my work every hour on the hour, and had to wait until 7:00 pm to shower!

But you know what? Sometimes you just have to do things, just to do them! And so I celebrate my accomplishment, my determination, and my integrity.

Next time you're doing a workout or an activity that's tough, and you feel like quitting...do NOT quit!! Think of me and my 10 little rows. And think of how great you'll feel when you accomplish what you set out to do!

Why does everyone think I'm a nut for doing this workout?! Come on people! Get creative, try something new and challenging and crazy. Step out of your box!

I think it's a cool idea! It would be fun to do with kids as a team effort to tally up every once in a while.

That's a great idea! And if you're working with a group of kids, you might also want to shorten the distance...try 500m rows instead of 1000m.
