The Perfectly Imperfect Pajama Workout

I worked out in my jammies this morning. There's no shame in it. In fact, I pat myself on the back for working out, no matter how ridiculous I look.

I didn't feel like working out, and was getting sucked into Facebook, when I decided that I'd really feel better if I did some exercise today. And so I just started walking up and down the two flights of stairs in my house. Next thing you know, I'd spent 1/2 hour walking up and down..frontwards, backwards, sideways, with all kinds of interesting variations thrown in to work all kinds of interesting muscles. And trust me, I broke a sweat!

Was this the perfect workout? NO. Was it a great workout? YES...because a great workout is one that you DO, and not one that you just think about! And it doesn't matter how imperfect it is. Remember, you're not training for the Olympics, you're training for your life! And your life, your body, will be so happy to get exercise.

So stop yourself from stopping yourself from doing some small, short, imperfect workouts. It all counts, it's all wonderfully healthy, it all adds up. Walk, do some stairs, do some push-ups, some jumping whatever comes to it in your jammies for all I care....just do it!
