5 Fitness-y Things To Do When It Rains

It's supposed to rain all weekend. Don't blame me. I'm just the messenger!

Good news is, you can still keep up a pretty good fitness routine, even if you can't go out to run and cycle and power walk and play volleyball, and do all the other fantastic outdoor activities that you're used to doing.

Here are 5 things you can do to keep your body and mind active this weekend.....indoors....where it's dry.

1. Planks. Regular, and side planks. Planks, every which way. Time yourself. See how long you can hold them.

2. Push-Ups. Boy-style, girl-style, or on an incline with hands on a bench/table/wall. See how many you can do in a minute. Form counts, so don't get sloppy.

3. Stair Climbers. Walk up and down the stairs in your house. Forwards, sideways, backwards, 2 at a time. Hold a pair of dumbbells for added challenge. Set a time goal and count how many flights you can do.

4. Squats. Add dumbbells for added challenge. Form is everything here. Try 3 sets of 6 with heavy weights, or 3 sets of 12 with lighter weights.

5. Jumping Jacks. Very simple way to get some cardio work in. Try 8 sets of 30" jacks/15" rest.

Get creative. There's a ton more things you can add to this list. You just need to eek out a tiny bit of space in your house...or your garage...or your neighbor's house...or wherever!
